1. What is a Line Stock chart?

A line stock chart is a form of line chart which is an effective tool for analyzing and visualizing stock value trends over a certain period of time.

When to use line stock chart?

A line stock chart is commonly used to depict the price movement of a stock or other financial instrument over time. It is particularly useful for visualizing the historical trends, patterns, and fluctuations in the stock's value, allowing investors and analysts to assess its performance, identify potential buying or selling opportunities, and make informed decisions based on the stock's historical price data.

2. How to build a Line Stock chart with example

The line stock chart effectively presents the sales revenue over time, providing a visual representation of the historical trends and fluctuations in revenue performance, enabling businesses to analyze and assess the overall sales trajectory and make informed decisions based on the revenue data.

  1. Click Click here to add your first chart

  2. In the menu, select Line Stock to create a line stock chart

3. Line Stock Chart Config

1. Select the database you use to create suggested in the list

2. Choose the table containing the data used to create, then it will show you the list of fields included in the table

3. Drag/drop or select the X-Axis value (represent the time period)

4. Drag/drop or select the Y-Axis value (represent the stock movement)

5. Drag/drop or select the Legend properties (optional)

6. Drag/drop or select the Sorting field to sort out the data in the chart (optional)

7. Drag/drop or select the Filters field to emphasize a specific data (optional)

8. You can see the visualization of your chart on the left side

  • Zoom: zoom in to a specific date range

  • Adjust the time period: drag and move the date line to zoom in

9. Select Settings to change the element’s settings

  • TITLE & SUBTITLE

You can change the title of the chart, choose the font, color and size of the name. You can also add the subtitle and change its format.

  • STOCK

You can turn off the zoom mode, change the compare type to value or percentage.

  • DISPLAY

Legend field contains the sub-categories that split each line into multiple lines corresponding to the categories. Each line still represents the same measure. You can change its display name or type (column, line, area, lollipop).

  • X AXIS

When you turn on the X Axis, you can input the Prefix, Postfix and change their format. X Axix title can also be added and change format too.

  • Y AXIS

When you turn on the X Axis, you can input the Prefix, Postfix and change their format. X Axix title can also be added and change format too. If you turn on Gridlines, you can change the size and the display of the Gridlines (solid, dash, dot,...).

  • DATA COLOR

Data color can be set auto or you can choose your favorite colors.

  • DATA LABEL

If you turn the label on, you can choose its style to perform (percent, value, raw), choose the font, color and size of the label and its position.

  • BACKGROUND

You can change the background color of the chart.

  • TOOLTIP

When you hover over a line of the chart, a text box appears to display information about the data of that line. You can change the text color, font, and background.

  • OTHER

Change the display unit, precision, and other functions

9. After building the chart visualization, click Add to create your chart.

10. Your chart will show up along with actions like sharing, editing, etc.
